These trainings help women feel a sense of worth, boosts their self esteem, as well as provides them with opportunities for self-employment or jobs. In turn, these centres transform these women to breadwinners and entrepreneurs, who are capable of supporting their families financially.

Vocational Training
In an effort to help them to ‘learn and earn’, we offer several vocational training courses to women from poor communities. Through vocational training centers located in different parts of India, we train women in tailoring, computer skills, bag making, soft toy manufacturing, etc.
These trainings help women feel a sense of worth, boosts their self esteem, as well as provides them with opportunities for self-employment or jobs. In turn, these centers transform these women to breadwinners and entrepreneurs, who are capable of supporting their families financially. Some of these projects are carried out in association with government agencies
Mothers’ groups and Self-Help Groups
· We believe that when women come together, life-changing impact can be effected in their families and communities. Bringing women together through Mother’s groups and Self-Help groups, ACSF uses this tried and tested method to bring about collective development among the women we work with. These women are trained, provided health and raining is given to these groups, and income-generation activities are undertaken. Additionally, a non-formal education programme in Ranchi, Jharkhand, provides women basic education to read, write and carry out necessary mathematical calculations.
· These women, being teachers in their own households, pass on their knowledge to the next generation. Therefore, ACSF sees it as important to create the right kind of awareness among them, empowering them to implement the right practices at home and in their communities.
· Women are trained to promote health and prevent disease in their own communities.
· We identify motivated women who show passion for the development of their communities and train them to become the local ambassadors for health and awareness in their respective communities. The training for selected women spans across a period of six months, during which they are trained on all the basics of health.
· These women volunteers then conduct awareness programmes and door-to-door campaigns promoting health and preventing diseases within their communities. Health checkups are conducted in various communities, exclusively for women.
· We support women-headed households with a monthly financial incentive, to complement their family income.
· More than 300 women avail financial support from ACSF on a monthly basis. Most of the beneficiaries of this initiative are young widows or destitute women who have been abandoned by their husbands or their families. This support assists them in meeting their basic necessities.
· The monthly support not only provides the women with a certain social security, it also endows them with a sense of emotional security that someone is taking care of them. This provides them with the motivation to move forward, no matter how bleak their situation may seem.
· Moreover, this amount is also ACSF ’s way of curbing child labour in families where the primary breadwinner is absent, thus passing on the weight of the financial burden to the children.
· Passionate and capable women are supported for setting up small businesses of their own.
· ACSF offers training as well as technical and financial assistance for those women aspiring to take on entrepreneurial ventures. We help them set up their own petty shops, tiffin centres, tailoring shop, etc. Some of the truly deserving women completing the tailoring course are also provided with free tailoring units
· ACSF also conducts trainings for financial literacy on topics like savings, use of bank accounts, etc. to help them in managing their family and business finances effectively.
